How is this realistic in anyway? That's so unrealistic. people wan't more realism and to be able to feel what its actually like on the road.
It is far more realistic than how ETS2 is currently setup.

In America you don't get to buy garages and haul other companies trailers. If you own your own authority you buy a truck AND a trailer. You then compete for loads with other drivers. If the rate is too low the broker haggles the next in line. Whoever can haul the freight for the lowest rate and still make income wins the load.

Currently, everything I have seen from ATS seems to be a re-skinned ETS2. I would really like more realistic features added.. possibly split the game into two modes. Arcade (like ETS2) and a more financially driven variant. Being able to drive as fast as you want without the limiter is cool for 10 minutes... until you realize it would never work in real life.

A first person mode outside of the truck is what i'd like to see. Much like the one in Farming Simulator where its basically just a free camera with foot step noise added.

Okay I don't think you get it if you work for a company you don't buy a trailer and compete for loads, and really what makes you think this is true where do you get your information? If you think you just know well lets just see prove it to me buddy.

In fact my dad is a truck driver he has been driving for 38 years I have been on the road with him since i was one and yet have never seen or heard of such thing as competing for a load so really it is unrealistic to compete for a load.

I really cannot understand your post at all.

I get my information from my career of the past 5 years.

If you're an owner-operator and own your own business you buy your truck and your trailer. If you buy just a truck you can lease on to a company and haul their trailers. If you don't own a truck you don't buy either and you drive under another companies name as an employee. You compete for loads if you're an owner operator signed onto a company driver driven company. The company tends to give more loads to the company trucks than to yourself... hence competing for loads.

When you own your own authority (truck + trailer) you compete for loads with other companies. Generally, load boards, hassling brokers, and hopefully making dependable contracts along the way.

Please, continue to live in the fantasy world that is ETS2. But do not think for a split second it truly depicts the lives of owner operators in the US. The ETS2 model of simulation is extremely bogged down for the simple minded and average consumer. It's a truck driving simulator. Nothing more.

You never heard of it... so it doesn't exist?

That's a really horrible outtake on life.

i wish it was real time, like if it takes an hour in real life to get to a place it should take a real hour in the game, i feel like this would get everyone more addicted.

If there's going to be a NYC portion of the map, I would love for it to really capture the NY environment and especially the city with all the cabs and traffic.

I also hope to see some official Mack, International and Western Star Trucks like the Pinnacle, Lonestar/Prostar and the new 5700XE

This idea just came to me. What if in ATS, you could request a dolly to connect another trailer if the load was going to the same place. I don't know about you guys but I believe that it would be something clever to implement.

What I think would be cool is if you could pull your truck parking brake and trailer brakes not like ets2 were it slows you down but it doesn't lock up the wheels but like in american trucks have your yellow and red button you should be able to use the red for trailer brakes like it 18wos extreme trucker when you disconnected your trailer it moved.

Mate i have been driving for only 2 years now (i drive a log truck) if u dont think companys compete for loads im afraid u have been in a shell every company competes for loads otherwise a smarter company will try to undercut the other contractor (charge the company who wants the load delivered less than the other company) thereby that other company will always get the other contractor to cart for them because it costs them less to get it there i have seen this in practice we lost a crew to stokes because the contractor dropped there rates and my boss said no i will not cart for u if your going to cut my pay per load so stokes said oh yup hi there logging contractor yea sure we will cart for that pay and hey presto we lost a crew get your info right

I want more comercial trucks! Like in real life, i mean for example International/navistar, ''old'' Peterbilt trucks (379/377) and Freightliner trucks! More heavyweight trailers. Realistic physics to the trailers, like weight and size (height). More climbs! Everything is so flat! Just put the foot down and shift to the last gear... That's boring. We need some ''''challenges'''' like shift low gears in a climb cuz the truck can maybe shut down/turn off. Or something like that, a little bit more realistic, not only put the foot down and reach 60mph in 10 seconds for example o_O.
That's my opinion. (Sorry for my bad english. Not my main language as you can see :( .)

i would like o see company trailers that you can customize with the trucks, and able to own as many as you want maybe a feature that allows you to hire owner operators to the mix for the company as well. it is just a little insight on what i would like to see coming from a real trucker here

Real time when you are driving at less then 30mph. That way you wont miss a contract because it took 2h (in-game) to park the damd trailer!!
Wide load escort vehicule, Coop mode.

I'm a former long haul truck driver here in the USA. For California I would really like to drive up and down the Grapevine. It's a stretch of Interstate 5 between Bakersfield and Los Angeles.. Very steep and somewhat windy...lots of fun.
Also Interstate 5 near Mt. Shasta into Oregon state.

Really hope once we get the opportunity to start our own companies, we will be able to track and pass our drivers on the road. I miss that they don't use that in ETS2 like they did in 18WOS.

I completely agree. The two things I miss the most is being able to see your company trucks on the road and the CB feature they had.
